Clubhouse Kidz is an audio-visual teaching curriculum designed to help kids learn Bible passages in a fun and easy way.
As a homeschooling Mom of 7, I have been challenged over the years in finding ways that I can engage my children in memorizing Scripture.
One morning, I was helping my son with his scripture memorization. It became apparent that he was not at all excited about it. Then, it occurred to me that my child can recite lines from a movie or a 30 second commercial that he has only seen once or twice. So, I decided to make a short video of pictures and text—to make my son’s memory assignment more visually stimulating. After we created this video, my son wanted to watch it again and again. Within two days, he had the entire chapter of Psalm 3 memorized! Not only was he affected by this method, but so were my other children, who were peering over his shoulder and memorizing it with him. This birthed the idea for Clubhouse Kidz.
I had learned in nursing school that visual images make mental tags that can facilitate long term memory, so I developed a fun teaching curriculum for memorizing scriptures that centers on these four principles. Read it. Write it. Sing it. Recite it.
This simple curriculum uses repetition, basic imagery, and song to help children memorize scriptures in a fun and easy manner.
My prayer is that God will use Clubhouse Kidz to be vital tool in bringing excitement to the process of memorizing God’s Word. Our goal is to offer unique memorization tools, and provide a network of “kids inspiring kids” to memorize scripture and to be a positive role model to their peers.
